  I went for two appointments for shoulder pain, and I thought it was a total waste of time - and money. Very frustrating and irritating as well. On the first appointment, it seemed that most of the time was spent writing on the computer - little therapy. On the second, it seemed that the therapist spent about as much time with a patient next door as with me. The terms say that you will lose time if you are late. I was ten minutes early, and it seemed to me unfair if the therapist went to treat someone else. Finally, the receptionist brought me a set of exercises. However, the exercises are entitled "Neck Stretch", and that is what they mostly are. I don't have a neck problem; it is my shoulder that is the problem. Only one of the exercises seemed to be related. I didn't complain but had decided definitely never to go back. The owner contacted me later and asked how it went. I described the problem and she said it would be corrected. I suggested that perhaps a partial refund would be reasonable but she refused. I went on the internet and in a few minutes found a bunch of exercises that work very well. Sites like shoulderdoc.co.uk, or orthoinfo (American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons), and lots of others have excellent exercises suited for my problem. It is my opinion that this office does not know how to treat my problem, and that it is more concerned with making money by doubling up patients than giving service. Added later: The owner admits that the service was inferior. Clearly, I would be distressed at returning to a facility that was so unsuitable. I have also stated that I have found adequate treatment easily elsewhere. My time also is valuable and traveling 45 Km for alternate appointments does not seem worthwhile. I had not complained until the owner contacted me - however the owner retains the fee paid and refuses refund which seems to me to be very odd behavior indeed. The performance of an employee is the responsibility of the manager, and it is not up to me to compensate for failures - loading additional requirements on the patient for time and travel does not seem fair. If service was rendered it should be paid, but the corollary is also true. I think my comment on the facility is therefore justified and perhaps not restricted to a particular limited situation but indicative of the attitude of the establishment.
